POWER LAB
March 20 - March 28, 2000

You and your fellow participants will live out your roles with real but scarce resources and permanent consequences.  The first three days are an experiential lab starting with a game.  You will earn your way into one of three groups: a powerful in-group, a powerless in-group and a powerless out-group.  You will continue to learn from this for years to come.  Join this unique eight-day workshop.

Power lab is for those who want:

  • to be powerful in dealing with scarce resources manifest as budget cuts, downsizing or increased objectives.
  • better relationships with superiors, subordinates and colleagues by understanding power and its consequences.
  • to powerfully participate in their organization as leaders and followers.

Power lab participants will learn:
  • how to use power when you have it.
  • how to respond to power when you do not have it.
  • how to be effectively independent of others.
  • what it takes to build new work communities.

WHAT IS POWER?

Camelot defines power in the context of our work with organizations
as the ability to get what you want, without dependence upon others and not at the expense of others.  Power is responsibility.

POWER IS NOT...

Aggression and violence
Control over others
Manipulation
Authority
Tyranny

Leadership Follow - On is for Graduates of Camelot's Leadership Program.  It will be held this year from 8:00 am Monday, April 10, to noon Friday, April 14, 2000.

  • We will update you on the new developments in our theory and practice of PCA in organizations.

  • We will continue our study of Kierkegaard.  The more we get into him the richer we find him.

  • What you can do with further applications of PCA to your work.  In preparation, come with questions about applications in: self, situations, systems, and society.  Expect to find where you can lead others that you are not now leading.  What challenges do you want next?

  • Are your PCA skills slipping?  We will review your PCA skills and update you with the new advancements from the field and from developments from each new L/S group.
